Bitcoin ETFs draw $440.8m before Binance hack sell-off

U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs have attracted $440.8 million over four consecutive trading sessions through Oct. 29, with BlackRock taking most of the inflows before Friday’s sell-off following Binance’s $6.3 billion hack.

    Summary

    • BlackRock’s IBIT accounted for $410.6 million of the four-session total, leading other U.S. Bitcoin funds.
    • Thursday’s net inflows slowed to $17.2 million as withdrawals from two products offset purchases elsewhere.
    • The four-day intake recovered approximately 57% of the money withdrawn during the previous two losing sessions.
    • The reporting period ended Oct. 29, leaving Friday’s response to the Binance breach outside the total.

According to Farside Investors, the funds received $110.3 million on Monday, $176 million on Tuesday and $137.3 million on Wednesday, followed by a smaller positive balance on Thursday.

The figures show money entering the U.S. funds during a difficult stretch for Bitcoin, although the timing separates most of that buying from the exchange breach. The four-session total covers Oct. 26–29, while blockchain investigators placed the main Binance wallet outflows late on Oct. 29 UTC.

Friday’s trading therefore falls outside the $440.8 million figure. At the time of checking, Farside’s Oct. 30 entries remained unreported.

BlackRock leads Bitcoin ETF inflows with $410.6 million

BlackRock’s IBIT received fresh money on each of the four days, starting with $110.3 million on Monday. Purchases reached $151.5 million on Tuesday and $136 million on Wednesday before slowing to $12.8 million on Thursday.

Adding those entries gives IBIT $410.6 million, equivalent to approximately 93.1% of the category’s net inflows over the period. The percentage compares BlackRock’s total with the combined balance after withdrawals from other funds.

Fidelity’s FBTC brought in $35 million, comprising $24.5 million on Tuesday and $10.5 million on Thursday. Bitwise’s BITB attracted $10.1 million across Wednesday and Thursday, while Morgan Stanley’s MSBT received $4.2 million on Thursday.

Withdrawals from two products reduced the combined result. Grayscale’s Bitcoin Mini Trust lost $15.3 million on Thursday, and WisdomTree’s BTCW recorded $3.8 million in outflows.

Together, the positive entries across the four days totaled $459.9 million. Subtracting the $19.1 million withdrawn from those two funds produces the $440.8 million net figure.

Thursday’s session was considerably quieter than the preceding three. Its $17.2 million intake was approximately 87.5% below Wednesday’s $137.3 million, despite four products finishing with positive flows.

The inflow streak follows $773.5 million in withdrawals

Farside’s table shows that the latest buying followed two consecutive negative sessions, when investors withdrew $635.6 million on Oct. 22 and another $137.9 million on Oct. 23.

The combined $773.5 million withdrawal exceeded the subsequent four-day intake by $332.7 million. Calculated from the rounded daily figures, the new inflows recovered approximately 57% of the money that left during those two sessions.

The previous week nevertheless finished positive because of purchases earlier in that period. Across Oct. 19–23, the funds attracted a net $301.2 million, including $526.7 million on Monday and $524.8 million on Wednesday.

A longer measurement period showed a different result. Earlier 30-day flow calculations published by crypto.news put net withdrawals at $254.7 million for the 30 calendar days through Oct. 26, using Farside’s rounded daily totals.

During that window, IBIT attracted $961.9 million while FBTC lost $725 million. The divergence between the two issuers was already visible before the latest four-session streak.

The daily flow table records net money entering or leaving each product. It does not identify individual buyers or establish whether their purchases were driven by falling prices, portfolio rebalancing or another strategy.

Binance breach puts Friday’s Bitcoin trading in focus

Bitcoin subsequently fell below $77,000 during Oct. 30 trading following the Binance breach. Binance market data cited in that report placed the asset at $76,944 shortly after midnight UTC, before a recovery toward $78,000 later in the session.

Lacie Zhang, research lead at Bitget Wallet, said in that report that holding $76,000–$77,000 and recovering $80,000 through sustained spot demand would signal stabilization. She identified prolonged withdrawal restrictions and reserve concerns as potential sources of pressure on lenders and market makers.

In its asset-replacement plan, Binance said it had reserved more than $6.34 billion in company funds, including $5 billion already held in the cryptocurrencies affected by the attack.

The exchange said purchases of the remaining tokens were being conducted through market transactions and over-the-counter channels. Certain purchases could take longer because of limited token liquidity and OTC settlement times, according to its recovery update.
